Evening Excursion to 400m viewpoint
We follow the nature trail, which crosses the slopes of the volcano up to the viewpoint at 400m a.s.l. to observe the Strombolian volcanic activity. During the excursion, our guides provide geological, historical and naturalistic information. The excursion takes about 5 hours, with a vertical drop of 500 D+ and a total length of 8 kilometres.
The time of departure varies according to the sunset time (from 3pm to 8pm).
Cost: 25€ per person.
Afternoon group excursion to the craters
(temporarily suspended until further ordinance)
The excursion lasts 5 hours with a break approximately every 30 minutes. The duration of stay above 750 metres a.s.l. Depends on the volcano’s activity and varies from 15 to 45 minutes. Departure time: from 3 pm to 5.30 pm depending on the season (departure times may vary by half an hour).
Excursions are carried out with groups of 10 participants minimum.
Cost*: 28€ per person + volcano access tax issued by the Municipality of Lipari.
Excursion with private guide
We offer privately guided excursions for those who wish to visit the volcano alone, or in private groups.
Itineraries can be personalized with regard to timing and approach route depending on specific needs. The guide can be chosen with regard to the language spoken.
Cost: to be defined.
We have a long-standing experience working with Italian and foreign schools. We offer excursions for students at secondary/middle/high school level, where particular attention is paid to educational and cultural aspects. Upon request we can also organize easier walks for younger students and children.
Cost: to be defined.
Excursions with children
Children aged 7-12 years can join the excursion only if motivated, in very good phisical condition and used to climb.
Excursions departing and returning to Lipari on the same day
For those who overnight in Lipari and wish to go there after the excursion there is a boat service available: “Da Massimo” (info and bookings: www.damassimo.it).
We’re always happy to provide any type of information about the island, as well as about transport and accommodation.
Our excursions are open to everybody, but as certain parts of the trail are particularly steep, and temperatures can be hot in the summer months, trekkers need to be in optimal physical condition and carry the necessary equipment. The climb is not suited for people with a known heart condition, asthma patients, persons who suffer from vertigo and children under the age of 10 years.
For safety reasons the guide reserves the right to cancel the excursion at any time owing to weather conditions, inadequate equipment or the physical condition of individual participants.
